Among the most eagerly awaited releases I discussed last year, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage certainly stands out. The original Pirates Outlaws was a captivating, stylish roguelike deckbuilder that emerged when the genre was still burgeoning. Now, its sequel is set to make waves with a Q3 release this year!

This sequel, playfully dubbed a "seaquel," transports you back to the vibrant world of New Elysia, where you'll embark on another thrilling journey across the ocean. Simply choose your character, select a class ability, and equip your starting deck to begin your voyage!

In Pirates Outlaws 2, you'll have the freedom to select from a variety of characters, each offering seven class options. You can further customize your deck and even recruit an animal companion to enhance the strategic depth of your battles. With enhanced turn-based combat, a new card evolution tree, and more, you'll have plenty of tools at your disposal to conquer the seas!

Pirates Outlaws 2 promises to be a significantly expanded sequel, allowing you to freely navigate back and forth across the map and offering an even greater variety of card and character combinations. For those on PC, an upcoming Steam demo will provide the first opportunity to get your hands on Pirates Outlaws 2!

However, my only concern arises from the animations showcased in the reveal trailer, which appear somewhat static to me. While fully animating these illustrations is challenging, I'm hopeful that the final release will feature more dynamic effects when it launches on mobile later this year.
