Launched on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, the game has quickly cemented its status as another triumph for the studio. Hazelight expressed their gratitude on social media, stating they are "blown away" by the enthusiastic support from both new and returning fans.

The studio previously shared that Split Fiction reached a remarkable milestone of 1 million sales within the first 48 hours following its launch, indicating that an additional million copies were sold over the subsequent five days. This rapid sales growth underscores the game's appeal and the compelling narrative of protagonists Mio and Zoe in their sci-fi adventure.

As a cooperative game, Split Fiction likely boasts a player base significantly larger than the number of copies sold, thanks in part to its innovative Friend’s Pass feature. This feature allows one player to buy the game and invite a friend to play at no extra cost, potentially doubling the number of players engaging with the game.
