Capcom 宣布举办其首届游戏开发大赛——Capcom 游戏大赛。这是一项面向日本学生的比赛，参赛者将使用 Capcom 专有的 RE 引擎进行游戏开发。Capcom 希望通过这项产学研合作，推动游戏产业发展，促进学术研究，并培养优秀人才。
参赛学生将组成最多 20 人的团队，每位成员将根据游戏制作人员的职位类型分配角色。在 Capcom 专业开发人员的支持下，团队成员将在六个月内共同开发一款游戏，学习“尖端的游戏开发流程”。此外，Capcom 计划为大赛获胜者提供“游戏制作支持，并有机会实现商业化”。
报名时间为 2024 年 12 月 9 日至 2025 年 1 月 17 日（除非另行通知）。参赛者必须年满 18 周岁，并且目前就读于日本大学、研究生院或职业学校。
RE 引擎，也称为 Reach for the Moon 引擎，是 Capcom 自 2014 年开发的专属游戏开发引擎，最初用于 2017 年的《生化危机7：生物危机》。此后，它也被用于多款 Capcom 游戏，例如其他几款最新的《生化危机》游戏、《龙之信条2》、《鬼泣5》以及明年即将推出的《怪物猎人：崛起》。该引擎还在不断发展和升级，以开发更高质量的游戏。
