This decision, revealed by executive producer Erik Barmack, stems from the challenge of condensing the extensive game content into a six-episode series.

Barmack hinted at the possibility of karaoke's inclusion in future seasons, particularly given lead actor Ryoma Takeuchi's fondness for karaoke. The omission, however, has sparked debate among fans. The concern is that focusing solely on the main plotline might sacrifice the comedic elements and side stories that define the Yakuza experience.

Prime Video’s Fallout series, lauded for its accuracy, attracted a massive audience, contrasting sharply with the negative reception of Netflix’s Resident Evil (2022) due to its significant deviations.

RGG Studio Director Masayoshi Yokoyama described the adaptation as a "bold" interpretation, aiming for a fresh experience rather than a direct replica. He assured fans that the series retains the franchise's signature quirky charm, promising moments that will elicit smiles throughout.
