Hoyoverse、原神の出版元は、米国連邦取引委員会と和解し、2000万ドルの罰金を支払い、16歳未満のプレイヤーへのルートボックス販売を禁止することに同意しました。

FTCの声明によると、原神の開発者は「2000万ドルを支払い、親の同意なしに16歳未満の子供によるゲーム内購入を禁止する」と和解の一環として発表しました。

FTC消費者保護局のディレクターであるサミュエル・レバイン氏は、原神が「子供、10代、プレイヤーを欺き、勝率の低い賞品に数百ドルを費やすよう誤導した」と述べました。レバイン氏は、「欺瞞的な戦術を使用する企業は、特に幼い子供や10代を誤導した場合、結果を負う」と強調しました。

FTCのHoyoverseに対する主な告発には、原神が子供をターゲットにし、個人データを収集し、「5つ星」ルートボックスの報酬の確率とコストについてプレイヤーを誤導したことによる、児童オンラインプライバシー保護規則の違反が含まれます。

FTCは、ゲームの仮想通貨システムが混乱を招き不公平であると批判し、「5つ星の賞品」を獲得するために、子供を含むプレイヤーが負担する高額なコストを隠蔽していると指摘しました。一部のプレイヤーは数百ドルまたは数千ドルを費やしています。

罰金と禁止措置に加えて、Hoyoverseはルートボックスの確率と仮想通貨の交換レートを開示し、13歳未満の子供から収集した個人データを削除し、今後COPPA規制を遵守する必要があります。
